CAF, an international train manufacturer and operator, needed a specialist Facilities Management partner to take responsibility for managing the day-to-day train cleaning for their Riyadh-Dammam fleet, and to ensure it is maintained to the highest standards as set out by the Saudi Rail Organisation.
CAF Arabia operate and maintain the fleet of high-speed passenger trains. The 449km Riyadh-Dammam line is one of the country’s most important, covering 4 stations, linking the capital of Saudi Arabia and the principle city of its Eastern Province, on the Gulf Coast.

Our solution involves a team of 60 operatives working to industry standards and procedures across two sites, Riyadh and Dammam. Staff work to daily cleaning schedules, staggered over a 24-hour period, to ensure the fleet is available and fully operational at all times. In addition, an On-Board Supervisor travels on the train at all times to ensure continuous quality is delivered to the passengers.
We also carry out periodic deep cleans on each train on an as required basis. Trains are taken to the Riyadh Train Care Centre where upholstery is deep cleaned, and scuffmarks and graffiti on walls and floors are removed.
In addition, we also manage the supply of water and fuel points which ensure the seamless running of the trains.
