Above all, we’re a people business
The principle of community permeates everything KEY does. This includes our approach to our staff, contract and client relationships, and our corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.
The main focus of our CSR policy is based around Doune, a beautiful village in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands. Doune is the home of four Directors and their families, and is the location of KEY’s head office.
Therefore, when seeking ways in which KEY’s success and knowledge could help our wider community, Doune seemed an obvious beneficiary.
At present, we are giving back to the community through our support for three local projects: Doune Castle Amateur Football Club; Doune and Deanston Youth Project, and Doune.co, the Community Website:
Doune Castle AFC
KEY is a main sponsor of Doune Castle Amateur Football Club, helping them to provide the team with essential kit.
At well over 60 years old, Doune Castle Amateur Football Club is one of the oldest amateur clubs in Scotland and has always enjoyed a popularity that has placed it at the core of village life.
Their successes include securing the Caledonian League Premier Division title for the first time in 2015.
The following year they retained their title and made League history by becoming the first side to win the title by remaining unbeaten throughout the League campaign!
Doune & Deanston Youth Project
KEY’s head office team is committed to providing voluntary educational and IT support for the Doune and Deanston Youth Project (DDPY).
DDYP is a charity whose purpose is to advance the education of the young people of the community through leisure time activities which develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities.
DDYP aims to encourage young people to form positive new interests and relationships, to determine and take responsibility for their own projects, and to promote activities which improve protection and understanding of the local cultural heritage.
Doune Community Website
KEY provided the start-up funding for Doune’s community website, Doune.co, and provides it with ongoing sponsorship, hosting and editorial support.
The aim of the website is to promote and strengthen the local community. It provides visitors and residents with a gateway to everything they need to know about the area: local history, attractions, environment, businesses, news, groups and events.
Doune.co is intended to be ‘for the community, by the community’. All local residents are encouraged to contribute to site design and content. An upgraded website is currently under development, incorporating outcomes from a community consultation.
